White marble statuette figuring a little girl sitting on a flowered rock. The child with cross-legged, puts a finger in front of his mouth and slightly turns his face to the left. She is wearing a cloth and a ribbon around her chest. A bird is perched on her left shoulder.
Work realized in 19th century.

Auguste Moreau (1834-1917) was a French sculptor, Mathurin Moreau’s student. He began his carrier at the Paris Salon in 1861 and participated to the French Artists Salon until 1910. He realized many art bronzes but also terracotta or marble statuettes, more commonly with human figures.
