Pair of Louis XV style armchairs à châssis, blue velvet, 1900 period

Pair of small Louis XV style armchairs à chassis in carved cream lacquered wood, nice patina. Standing on four console legs ending in swirls. Scalloped trails, armrest support slightly beneath the legs line. A la reine flat serpentine shaped backseat, adorned on top by acanthus leave with a central rosette. This motif is also on the apron, and acanthus leave adorned the top of the legs. Wrapped bulrush pattern decorating all the rails and supports of the armchairs.

A chassis trim in blue-green velvet, a kind of tone much appreciated in the 18th century and that can be seen in many interiors, like in the French Prince de Soubise oval music salon. A removable cushion in the same velvet elevates the seating.

Work from 1900 period.
