The Jugendstil was the Deutsch Art Nouveau movement of the end of the 19th century. The term “jugend” refered to the Munich journal created in 1896 by Georg Hirth that presented artists and critics that defended the new style. The “Jungen” movement was the modern movement driven by the Vienna youth that wanted a philosophical, artistic and political break with the academic past. This trend modified decorative arts as architecture with the influence of new currents as the impressionism, the japonism or the symbolism.
