Kidney-shape Louis XV style dressing table in marquetry of violet wood following a diamond motif. The inlaid and protected-by-a-glass top is surmonted by a oval-shaped folding miror with two candelabras, made of bronze. Stamped work on the bronze in the lower part of the mirror and under the dressing table, on the left stud.

French work realized circa 1880.

Charles Bernel (1889-1956) was a French cabinetmaker. Following his father path, Charles Bernel, who founded the homonymous Maison in Paris, which provided furniture to the Royal Courts of England and Denmark, notably  worked, in collaboration with jeweller René Lalique, to create the living room for the 1925 exhibition of decorative and industrial arts in Paris.
