In the 18th century, Liège furniture enjoyed great popularity. The chest of drawers made its appearance in Liège interiors around 1730. It is a simple storage unit, with a curved facade, generally provided with three drawers and resting on zoomorphic feet. Unlike the top of French chests of drawers, for which marble was most often used, that of Liège furniture is made of wood.
