Louis XVI style commode in rectangular shape, slightly bulged with curved flanks in veneered mahogany and boxwood, standing on four tapered legs.
Opening with a thin drawer in the apron and two other drawers without stretcher in facade, flanked by fluted uprights in set-off.
Rich ornamentation of chiseled and gilt bronzes like consoles on angles with oak and acanthus leaves, openwork frieze of ivy and grappes, framings with water leaves and scrappers, pull rings, lock entries and shoe with leaves patterns.

Work realized circa 1880, according to an original model made by the french cabinetmaker Jean-François Leleu (1729-1807), this shape was very popular and liked during the Louis XVI period.
This commode is unfortunately not joined to a special and known order before 1789, but then we know that its arrived on the Petit Trianon in Versailles in 1867, in the wake of an exhibition in the memory of Marie-Antoinette organized at the request of the Empress Eugénie.
