Pair of baluster shaped in the red shades Kutani porcelain lamps with some dark blue and gilt highlights. On one side decoration of birds perched on a flowery branch with dahlia, chrysanthemums and prunus blossoms on one side and on the other side, three kids playing and a dog playing.
Mount in chiseled and gilt bronze standing on a circular base standing in four little legs with the upper part decorated with gadroons and an openwork gallery.
Work made circa 1890.

Kutani-yaki is a style of porcelain that belongs to Japanese ceramics. Designed in Ishikawa Prefecture, it appeared during the Edo period, in 1656, and has its origins in Chinese porcelain. Disappeared during the Genroku period, Kutani porcelain reappeared in the 19th century and is still produced today.
