Aquafortis and aquatint print on rag paper framed with a molded guilloched black wood frame, in a dutch style.
The print represents Adam and Eve with a peace dove. On the background, a tiny hamlet seems to be a symbol of the modern city, contrasting with the profuse nature around.
The nudity of the characters and the presence of vegetation convey an idyllic world, an Eden garden far from the modern life.
Vivid pastel colors on a smooth and linear outline draws the typical profiles of the artist’s characters.
Print signed on the front in the bottom right corner (under the frame) “Alekos Fassianos” and titled in the middle. Limited print, numbered 4/50 (in the bottom left corner).
Work from the late XXth century.
Alekos Fassianos (1935-) is a greek artist born in 1935. He arrived in France in the 60’s, and began to study lithography.
He is also interested in drawings and various types of engraving.
This work is a perfect example of his favorite subjects: mythological figures, nakedness, idyllic natures…
