Pierre Toulhoat (1923-2014) was born in Quimper, in Brittany. During WWII he was actively participating to the local Resistance while he worked as a drawer for the departmental Public Roads agency. Briefly journalist after the Liberation, he integrated the National School for Decorative Arts in Paris in 1947 and participated to the creation of the Faience manufacture of Keraluc in Quimper. He drew jewelry, scarves and stained glass for various brands and he finally created his own jeweler’s shop in 1965, which today continues to produce his works.
