Richond, Rocaille style clock in gilt bronze, before 1873

Rocaille style gilt and chiselled bronze clock. Tumultuous case in a stylized cartouche shape standing on a scalloped base with four scrolls legs and a central cartouche decor.
Top of the case adorned with a shell crowned by a central openwork indentation externally adorned with chiseled flowers and a lattice pattern inside.

On the case body, ornaments of acanthus leaves, lattice pattern on the front face and sides, with a red background. A trophy adorned the bottom, under the dial decorated with a beads frieze.

White background dial indicating hours in Roman numerals and minutes in Arabic numerals, all blue enameled.

Benoît Félix Richond (1795-1873) was clockmaker and jeweler master at 11 Boulevard Montmartre in Paris.
