Two wallpaper panels realized by the Manufacture Zuber, 6 strips of the panoramic decor « The Hindoustan ». We can see Indian style buildings and characters. On one strip, there is one islamic style architecture temple and on the other one a palace with a fortress enhanced with a chhatris (umbrella or box in Hindi), kiosk shaped structure topped by a dome, typical of the indian architecture and takes over on the moghol architecture. Near the temple, a man prays while an another group party dressed plays music. Near the fortress, a notable in fancy dress is driven to the palace on a palanquin carried by a beef.
Strips have been resized and framed with a gilt wood bamboo style frame. Transformed in two independents panels, they can be easily set anywhere in any piece without apply wallpaper, and it increases their decorative impact.
Work from the late 20th century, around 1970.
“The Hindoustan” is still produced by the Zuber Manufacture; stamps with carved wood plans (1265 needed for this one) like it was made in 1807.

Nowadays, The Manufacture Zuber remain one the most famous name for the wallpaper production in the entire world.
