Arne Vodder (1926-2002) was a Danish designer. After studying cabinet making and architecture in the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts of Copenhague, he graduated in 1947. Known for the simplicity of his lines, he favoured the use of noble woods, like rosewood and teak, in the conception of his pieces of furniture. In 1950, he founded his own architecture and design studio in collaboration with Anton Borg and created, at the same time, furniture and low-cost buildings. His productions have been edited by major editors like Fritz Hansen and France & Son. During the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s, he furnished a part of White House as well as the United Nation headquarters in Geneva.
