Mercier Frères Décoration, Flat desk of Louis XV style, circa 1900

Flat desk of Louis XV style in rosewood veneer and chiseled and gilded bronze, opening with three drawers on the front. Tray covered with black leather morocco adorned with a frieze. Ornamentations adorned with shells and acanthus leaves. The belt features crackle lacquer panels decorated with astrolabes, stars and foliage. Curved feet ending in hooves.

French work realized circa 1900.

Mercier Frères Décoration was a decoration company, upholsterer and furniture manufacturer. Active between 1828 and 1985, it was located at 100, faubourg Saint-Antoine in Paris. She had an international activity and participated in the Universal Exhibitions of Paris in 1867, 1900 and 1937.
