Pair of Louis XVI style armchairs in gilded wood, circa 1880

Pair of Louis XVI style cabriolet shepherdesses in molded, carved and gilded wood, all adorned with beaded friezes and acanthus leaves. Backrest in basket handle, the top ending with a decoration of fire pots. The slightly recessed armrests are carved with acanthus leaves, pearl frieze and connecting dice adorned with rosettes. The four tapered legs with a round section are adorned with rudent grooves, rings and friezes of stylized leaves; in the lower part, they are terminated by spinning tops, in the upper part the connecting blocks are adorned with a rosette. Backrest, seat and cuffs upholstered with a fabric adorned with foliage, ribbons, laurel wreaths and flowerpots in medallions, ivory color on a blue background.
