Robert Guillerme (1913-1990) and Jacques Chambron (1914-2001) are two French creators of the brand “Votre Maison”, famous workshop of furniture manufacture and interior decoration in the 1950’s. Guillerme graduated in the Ecole Boulle in 1940 and then became an architect and an interior decorator for the Rogier society. Whereas Chambron graduated in the Ecole des Arts Appliqués in Reims in 1938 and then became a decorator painter in his own workshop. The two men met after war and created their own society “Votre Maison” where everyone had a precise function : Guillerme created, Chambron did the commercial part and Emile Dariosecq, cabinetmaker, manufactured furniture. The success was quick and they create a large diversity of low-cost furniture with the use of characteristical materials and techniques of the society as the waxed oak, a light hue of the wood or a dark hue obtained thanks to the iron oxide. Armchairs and sofas were realized on a same model with worked back, a waxed wood and a thick cushion for the seat. In the 1970’s, the society was taken up by the son of Chambron who realized his own creations.
