Stand in painted wood figuring a Nubian woman, Napoleon III period

Stand in gilt and painted wood figuring a standing Nubian woman in contrapposto posture. She wears a simple cloth with a yellow background and colored motifs of scrolls and cartouches. She also wears jewels : a necklace and forearms bracelets and a fabric on her head with blue stripes and white flowers motifs. She raise one arm to support a large cup surrounded with the same fabric, topped by the stand circular tray figuring a fringed damask fabric.
She stands on a rocks mound supported by a black lacquered and gilt circular base with three legs in stylized lion paw shape.

Work realized at the Napoleon III period (1852-1870).
