The water leaf is an ornament found in various styles. This wavy or plain-edged sheet, without cutting, is used to decorate moldings and surfaces of a certain size. Water leaf is also frequently used in ironwork to enrich the iron scrolls of the balcony grills. In the latter case, the leaves have more accentuated cuts, which, through the movements that the artist gives them, attenuate the dryness of the spirals and windings.
