Gaetano Sciolari (1927-1994) was an Italian designer and was the first Italian lamps manufacturer in the United States, as the biggest importer. He was the founder and the first president of the professional Italian association of lighting equipments manufacturers, still active today.
All Sciolari creations mixed a formal avant-garde research, with geometrical inspirations but always elegant and sophisticated, with a preference for the glass, brass and chrome work.
This important designer for the lighting history has been massively rediscovered recently and now very researched by collectors !
